Despite the air-con not being strong enough to keep the entire cafe cool and the cramped seating arrangements, the overall setting felt welcoming and family-friendly - as evident by the number of kids who were there with their parents.
Cutlery sat in holders shaped like camera lens - a pretty novel idea!

The crew came forward to greet us when we entered and explained the process of placing orders and making payment at the cashier.
Food
Finding a cafe that serves milk is as rare as finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. I actually clapped with joy upon finding out Warm Froth Milk ($3.00, with an additional $1.00 for extra flavor like Caramel, Cinnamon, Hazelnut or Vanilla) was one of the many drinks offered here.
Sensually smooth on the tongue, the milk also held a gentle and soothing aftertaste of cinnamon. It's the perfect bed-time companion!
Egg Royale ($13.90) was stunning in its simplicity. Flat, toasty english muffins married with lightly sour cream cheese and generous portions of smoked salmon made for a delicious treat. Throwing in divinely poached eggs and fish roe (which admittedly was not crunchy as expected) upped the tantalizing factor.
Piggy Back ($16.90, additional $2.00 to change to truffle fries) was pork ribs basted in BBQ sauce, with the meat between the ribs being a tad hard to cut.
The exquisite truffle fries were cooked well to a beautiful texture, though the mild truffle flavor was masked by the black pepper and salt seasonings.
The Seasalt Caramel Cheesecake ($6.50) had a firm base and a sweetness that was not cloying. Drizzled caramel provided a great backdrop.
Verdict
Hangout Cafe has a timely location and offers tasty food at reasonable prices. It's worth checking it out at least once.
